How did I get here?
I've been a Certified Life Coach since 2008, supporting many people to move through roadblocks and achieve their dreams and goals. A few years ago, two of my best friends became sick with cancer, prompting me to re-examine my lifestyle and eating habits. I was a single-parent to a teenage daughter and to be quite honest, I was terrified. The more I researched and learned the truth about our food system, the more I wanted to know. I enrolled in the Nutrition Therapy Institute and health became my passion. I launched my nutrition & wellness practice in 2017.
what i've learned
- I've learned that good health starts in the gut.
- I've learned that food can be used as medicine.
- I've learned that there are many chronic and auto-immune conditions that are "hidden" and often when doctors can't figure out the cause of your symptoms, they're chalked up to being "all in your head."
- I've learned that mood disorders, at any age, are very often worsened by poor diet.
- I've learned that too many people find themselves feeling burned out, dissatisfied, unfulfilled, anxious, overwhelmed and overweight due to poor health.
- I've learned that peri-menopause and menopause symptoms can increase those anxious and dissatisfied feelings.
The sad truth is that our food system is broken. In the U.S., most people rely heavily on processed foods - whether purchased in the grocery store or a restaurant - that are full of chemicals and toxins that make us sick and fat. Our bodies can only take so much before they begin to break down.
